INTRODUCTION

Football is one of the most famous sports in America. In 1948 - 1960, Baseball was the most famous and popular sport in the U.S. Later in 1972, Football took baseball’s place. It is considered one of the “Major” sports. Football’s biggest sport is the Super Bowl. The Super Bowl is the biggest sport throughout the U.S. It is also a part of the NFL.

HISTORY

The NFL, as we all know, created the Super Bowl. In 1920, a group was formed. This group was the NFL. They made college football popular. The most popular team was Notre Dame college football. In 1940, a group of people thought that football or the NFL should be a respectable, patriotic, and an American institution. But the NFL said no. Those people created their own group instead. They called it the AFC (American Football Conference). The AFC and the NFL became good rivals of each other. They competed for fans, players, and support.

Then In 1966, the owners of the two leagues both decided to merge the leagues. The first Super Bowl was held in 1966. The original name was, “AFL-NFL World Championship Game,” which didn’t sound right. Clark Knobel Hunt (Kansas City Chiefs Owner. Also CEO, Chairman, and part-owner of the AFL) recommended that we call it the Super Bowl.

After the merge of the two leagues, they split into two conferences. The AFC (American Football Conference) and the NFC (National Football Conference).

THE FIRST GAMES OF NFL

The first Super Bowl was on January 15, 1967, precisely after the merge of the two leagues. It was the NFC’s Packers, against AFC’s Kansas City Chiefs. The NFC’s Packers won the Super Bowl. The next year, the Packers went against the Oakland Raiders. Yet again, the Packers won. At this point, some people questioned if the AFC had a chance in the NFL. But the next year, the AFC held a surprise.

AFC’s Jets won the NFC ‘s Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl Ⅲ. The next year, in Super Bowl Ⅳ, yet again the AFC won. The Kansas City Chiefs were up against the Minnesota Vikings. This was the last game played against the AFC and the NFC.

THE BEST GAMES OF THE SUPER BOWL

The best plays of the super bowl were almost the first ones! The first one is

  1. Super Bowl Ⅰ (1967)

Green Bay Packers - 35 / Kansas City Chiefs - 10

  1. Super Bowl Ⅲ (1969)

New York Jets - 16 / Baltimore Colts - 7

  1. Super Bowl Ⅶ (1973)

Miami Dolphins - 14 / Washington Redskins - 7

  1. Super Bowl Ⅹ (1976)

Pittsburgh Steelers - 21 / Dallas Cowboys - 17

Aunnie’s Art Review

INTRODUCTION

Have you ever seen a football art that has more than one team logo on it? Well if you haven’t, then this will be your first time. This week's artwork that I will be talking about is football balloon. This art is one of my many artworks. A cool fact about football balloons is that it was colored with chalk pastels and oil pastels. To color with chalk pastels you need to put a little chalk on the paper and then take your finger or a glove and smer the chalk within the line . Chalk pastels are light and hard to get in the line, but if you put the right amount then it will be great. Oil pastels are like crayons, they just have a darker color and the smell is different. I decided to use the pastels because I wanted to try something different. I hope you like it!

ABOUT THE ART

This art is about the super bowl, how I draw football team logos. This art is balloons with logos of some football teams with the players' helmets that are going to play this year for the super bowl. I put the Miami dolphins, the 49ers, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, and Indianapolis Colts because I like how the picture of the team looks. When I think of football I think of it as a tough changing sport but I drew it the opposite of hard which is not rough, and easy. 32 teams but I only chose 11 teams (counting the 2 champion teams that are going to play in the super bowl.) The balloons have a football holding it.

HOW I FEEL ABOUT MAKING THIS ART

When I was making the art I was focused and proud since I was focusing on coloring and getting in it the bubble. I was proud because I can make a super bowl art, although I can always make it I just wanted it to be seen by other people besides my family. This art took 2 days to finish ( the first day I did it for 2 hours then the next day was 1 hour) I think that if I draw this again then I will put more balloons and football team logos.

Dolphin

INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone, I had a choice over Lions, Jaguars, Panthers, Dolphins, Falcons, Eagles and Bears. My computer, me and maddie jeje voted on dolphins. 3 votes for dolphins and 2 for Lions. And why are dolphins one of the super bowl animals? Because in 1972, the Miami Dolphins had a 22 steak(that means that got 22 wins in a row, that alot!). So, now that you know about what I’m going to write about, let’s look at some fast facts. A dolphin is a Cetaceans (cent-a-sh-ion). Depending where different dolphins live, they eat different things. Some eat aqua plants. Others eat deep sea fish.

WHY AM I DOING THIS ANIMAL?

I am doing this animal because in 1972, the Miami dolphins had a 22 win streak. Facts about the miami dolphins:

  • They are the oldest professional football team in Florida

  • They changed their logo 6 times in 53 years

FACTS

Dolphins are known to be playful and as smart as apes. Only male dolphins can defeat a human. A female can kill a few people. Males can kill a lot of people. They are 1,100-600 lbs. Both male and female dolphins can grow 6.6 -13 feet long. They are 330 – 1,400 lbs. The life span for a dolphin is 40 years (for a male). Females have a lifespan of 60 years. Dolphins live in all the oceans, including Antarctica and the arctic ocean. 2 species of white-sided dolphins live in Antarctica and the Atlantic ocean. The hourglass dolphin lives in the Drake passage.

SPECIAL DOLPHINS

There are 4 dolphin names. Winter, Hope, Panama and Fungie. Winter is a female dolphin. She lost her tail from a crab trap. She was the star of clearwater. Hope is a female, small dolphin with no survival skills. She is a fast and intelligent dolphin. She is a common bottom nose dolphin. Hope was born 2010. Panama is a female dolphin nicknamed granny because of her old age and her strong nature. She was the oldest dolphin in clearwater marine aquarium. She was close to 40 years old at death. She died in 2013. Last, fungie, the male bottlenose dolphin. Fungie got his name because a fisherman teased Fungie’s beard and named the dolphin fundgie because it looks like fungus. The fisherman is part of Oceanworld Aquarium Dingle (where fungie is at now) to get dolphins. The Fungie lives in dingle. Fungie was born before 1980. He is about 45 if he was still alive. Knowone (even the aquarium doesn’t know) knows how fungie died. Some think he died because he was shot dead. Others think he was by a shoal of fish out to sea or maybe he washe died from old age. After all, he did live long for a male. There are three more dolphins.

Sunset Sam, Nick and PJ. Let’s talk about nick. Nick is his nickname to, Nicholas Is his real name. He is 18 and a male. He was rescued by the Gibsonton on 12/24/2002. Nick was not focused enough and was moved to the clearwater marine aquarium. He met winter and hope and PJ. The clearwater marine aquarium opens at 10:00am-6:00pm (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday). Let's talk about Sunset Sam now. She was the first dolphin in clearwater. She cannot go inside the wild because she is too small. She is blind. She was the star of Clearwater marine aquarium before winter. She died because of liver failure in 2001 and the age of 21. PJ is a female dolphin. She is deaf, blind, and has arthritis. She didn’t die though. These dolphins are based on a true movie true movie called dolphin tales. There are Dolphin Tales, Dolphin Tales 2, and Dolphin Tales 3.

SPECIES

Dolphins are the second most intelligent animal in the world. The Homo Sapiens (Homo Sapiens are humans) are 1st, Bottlenose Dolphins are 2st , 3rd is Kanzi (this is a male baboon and is known for intelligence. Dolphins do not need energy from sleeping, They get energy from eating. Even If they did get energy from sleep, they sleep late at night, but they are NOT nocturnal. They are unihemispheric. Dolphins sleep up on the surface. They move slowly while sleeping. Most cetaceans are like this (cetaceans are water animals that have long jawed mouths). Besides the land cetaceans. Land cetaceans are pakisitis and others.

REVIEW

I will give this animal 10 stars because this animal is cute. I love cute animals because they smile well. I also like the way they are energetic and fast. I love fast animals because they run/swim VERY well. 🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬🐬

GLOSSARY:

Unihemispheric - ‘Sleep with your left eye closed and right half of your brain sleeping’

Cetacean - Marine animal in the order of cetacea. Animals in this group are Whales and porpoises.

Aqua plants - They live in non-coral waters.
