INTRODUCTION

National Hug day is the topic. It is a day where you can hug more. It was created by Kevin Zaborney. His purpose is for people to hug more. With COVID around, people hug a lot less. If we hug, we may get others sick. But even so, some cultures don’t hug very often. A culture like that would be Asian culture. They are not taught to hug whenever they see a loved one. But to Americans, it’s more natural for them. With no people hugging that often, it makes some people depressed or lonely.

HISTORY OF HUG DAY

First celebrated in 1986, was very popular. This idea was thrown into Kevin Zaborney’s mind. Kevin Zaborney noticed that people wore a frown during Christmas, New Years’, and Valentine’s day, Even though the holidays are a very positive time. This holiday was first celebrated in Clio, Michigan. His idea spread around the world because his friend was the granddaughter of the publication. Later then, his holiday was published in Chase’s Calendar of Events.

In the US, we don’t hug enough. So this holiday influences people to hug more. This holiday’s purpose aims to change the way that people see emotions. Hugging helps in many ways such as making people happy and comforted.

PHYSIOLOGICAL EFFECT ON HUGGING

Scientists have found out that giving another person a hug or touch can reduce the stress of both parties. What I mean by that is if you hugged someone, it relieved both their stress and your stress.

  1. Hugging can reduce the number of illnesses

In a study, over 400 adults were being used. Researchers found out that hugging reduced the chance of a person getting sick. Participants with greater support systems were less likely to get sick. They had fewer symptoms than participants with little or no support systems.

  1. Hugging can help your heart health

In another study, adults were divided into 2 groups. “Group A” was told to hold hands with their partners for 10 minutes followed by a 20-second hug. “Group B” was tested shortly after and told to sit in silence with their partners for 30 seconds. Group A had greater blood pressure and heart rate than group B.

Oooh. It’s time for a little art!

Aunnies Art Review

INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone, the art that I will write about is Autumn Hug, it is by Leonid Afremov. I picked this art because it is colorful and the whole picture is detailed.

About the artist

Leonid Afremov was born July 12, 1955, and died August 19, 2019, that was just 2 years ago. Leonid Afremov was 64 when he died. he died in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Leonid Afremov’s name is Leonid Arkadievich Afremov. Leonid Afremov’s style of art is Modern Impressionism, which is created with bright and cheerful artworks. He is famous because he is a self-representing artist which means that he sells his art. He sells his art on eBay. As a kid, he surrounded himself with art. He was going to art classes and having lessons with artists. In modern Impressionism, you need to put layers of color on the canvas. Modern Impressionism is an art that is small, thin, and has visible brush strokes from the 1880s to the 1960s. Leonid Afremov went to school at Vitebskiy Gosudarstvennyy Universitet Imeni P.m. Masherova.

About the art

In this picture, it looks like it is raining because the floor is blue like water and they are holding an umbrella. It is night time because the street lights are on. From the name of the art I would think that it is Autumn because the name is Autumn hug but if I did not know the name then it is because there are orange and yellow on the trees. 3D because of all the layers on it. It looks like they are walking in the park because there are so many trees and a big walkway. Leonid Afremov used a palette knife to make this artwork. This artwork reminds me of when I am going to the park with my family, I would think can a tree by rainbow? The colors are pink, orange, blue, green, yellow, brown, black, and magenta. Pink means love, kindness and some Shades of pale pink are described as relaxing. Green is a cool color that is like nature and the natural world. Maybe because of its strong connection with nature.

Rate the art

I give this art 10 stars because it is colorful, it is detailed, and that there is nature in the art. I like colorful things and nature, it makes me have a soft, nice, happy feeling. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟🌟🌟🌟

KOALA BEAR

INTRODUCTION

Hello everyone, This week I will talk about koalas because they hug the tree when they are climbing. It looks like they really love trees. Koalas are marsupials, located in Australia. There are only one species of koala.

FACTS

This animal is a species of mammal in Mammalia called marsupial (mar-sup-e-ul). 20 years is an average lifespan for koala's but for Chordata animals, that is a long time. most koala specimens are 23.5-33.5 in(length). the average koala size is 20 lb. The scientific name for the koala bear is Phascolarctos cinereus. Here is a list of animals that can hunt koalas: Ferals, quolls, taipans, eastern brown snakes, tiger snakes, wedge-tailed eagles, dingoes, red foxes, and maybe Taz devil (Tasmanian devils)and quolls. This is probably the reason why koalas sleep on trees. When predators aren’t around, they sit and walk on the ground.

WEIGHT, LENGTH, AND WIDTH

Koalas are 23.5-33.5 inches in length. They are about 2-3 feet standing up on two legs. Kaola’s are 20 lbs. 2 kaola’s+a mid-sized bag of onions is about the weight of me. I am 43 lbs. 20+20=40. Add the bag of onions, add 3 lbs, that is 43 lbs.

SPECIES

Koalas are mid-sized tree marsupials. Koalas live in Australia. Oceania is Australia. Some say Australia is apart of Oceania. But Oceania is Australia. They call it Oceania because most of Australia is covered in the pacific ocean. Well, anyway, did you know koalas are not bears? They are aggressive like bears, but the rate from not even aggressive to high would be mild. They are marsupial. That means they have joeys. Every year, koala’s get a baby. Joeys eat more than one pound. Adults eat about 1 kg(kilogram)(3 lbs)(pounds. The koala is an herbivore. It is herbivorous. They feed on eucalyptus trees.

Review

I will give this animal 9 stars because they are marsupials and I like marsupials also because they are SOOOOO cute.
