M@Dkid's Gazette Vol. 16 - National Law Enforcement Day

National Law Enforcement Day

Police are very important to our world. Even if it may not seem like it, they are very important. on January 9, it will be National law enforcement day. This is a day to appreciate the police and their sacrifice and risk. Police are working throughout the pandemic too!! That means that they could catch the virus. They would give up their life for the world.

This holiday was triggered because in 2014 a police officer was involved in a crossfire shooting in Missouri. When the C.O.P.S - Concerns of police survivors found out about it, they thought that law enforcement should have an appreciation. They thought that we should show our appreciation to them by recognizing the people who put their lives on the line to help America.

The different types of Polices are:

• Uniformed officers. Uniformed officers are officers that have general law enforcement duties. These duties could be maintaining regular patrols.

• Detectives. You might know what a detective does. If you dont know what it is, detectives are people who slove mysteries and find out what happened at a crime sceen.

• State patrol and Highway patrol. The state patrol and highway patrol protect the govener and things like that.

• Fish and game wardens are suprisingly Polices! They protect the wild life and make sure people dont fish where they’re not supposed to.

• Another type of police is the Transit and railroad officers. They protect property and make sure that there is not theft on railroads.

• Sherifs are local officers that can be found in your home town.

• Special jurisdiction police that provide police services for areas this jurisdictions

• I think that one of the coolest police is the Air marshals. Air marshals are cool because they are police on airplanes and air craft.

In the 1800s, an idea of police was slowly developed. At night punished men would need to do a night watch. But they were often caught drinking and sleeping. It wasn’t just punished men, though. it was volunteered men, too. then in the 1900s, a very smart man named August Vollmer created the idea of police. These police were well respected and treated. The police would patrol the neighborhood that they lived in. Vollmer made sure that every single one of his police men completed college. As apart of the police’s job, August made every police confiscate all the alcohol in their town and dump it down the sewage. No, that created problems. Soon, riots, protest and petty crimes were made. The police could not keep up. On June 28, 1969, police raided the Stonewall Inn (LGBTQ bar). And then that’s where things got CRAZY.

Police are not mean but serious. they exposed to so much danger everyday. you don’t think about it but police are always there . They are always there because if someone robs your house, who do you call’? The police! If someone stole something from you, who do you call? The police!!

A shoutout to:

Aunnie’s art review

Intro

Hello, this week's topic is law enforcement so that is why I’m writing about Mario and police officers. This art caught my eye because there is a mario and a black and white police officer also it is like a game but is an art. This art is by Banksy, Banksy is an artist that does not show his identity so we don’t know if Banksy is a boy or girl. I’ve written about banksy before in previous art reviews.

1. About the artist

Banksy was born July 28 1974 (which means he/she is a ruby just like my dad.) Banksy is about 47 years old, Banksy’s period is street art. Banksy is an artist that is british and english. He/she was in movies which means that people have met Banksy or that Banksy put on a disguise. We don’t know if Banksy is his or her name; they just think that because of Banksy's signature. They say Robin Gunningham is Banksy’s real name but they aren't sure.

2. About the art

In this art there is a Police, mario and a mushroom. The colors are red, blue, tan, white and black. Mario is wearing a red shirt with an overall and the police is wearing a suit and on top is a vest. It looks like Mario is trying to get the mushroom but the Police has it in their hands. It is like the Police are saying not to touch it. maybe mario will take it when the Police will come away. The Police is so realistic but Mario is like a game art. This art is not on a canvas, it is on a wall. Street art is art created in public locations for people to see in the public, street art began in 1967 and it is still going on. A period is a part of time and an art historical movement.

3. Rate the art

I give this art 10 stars because it is an art with a game in it and because there is mario in it. Also because it has a game in art not a lot of people would draw like that.

GERMAN SHEPHERD

INTRODUCTION

Hi everyone, on jan 9th, 2021 it is national law enforcement day. So the law enforcement is like all police. There are 3 levels of law enforcement, Federal - which include FBI and US Secret services, State - highway patrol and state patrol, and finally The Local - police and sheriff. The animals that law enforcement use are dutch shepherd, bloodhounds, belgian malinois and german shepherd. But this week I will be focusing on the german shepherd.

WHAT THIS ANIMAL IS USED FOR

Dutch shepherd dogs are for working and focus. Bloodhounds are good for smelling the scent of the criminal. Belgian Malinois dogs are used in airports, trains and subways. It smells stuff But they don’t smell criminals, they smell bombs and drugs. Saddle coat german shepherd dogs are for active crimes and are common with the law enforcement.

facts

The weight of A male german shepherd is 66- 88 lbs. Females are 49- 71 lbs. Also the male height is 24- 26 in. Females are 22- 24 in. In 1899, someone named Horand von Grafrath discovered the first german shepherd dog. Horand von Grafrath found the german shepherds guarding sheep. From the years 2014 to 1018, the german shepherd has been marked as the 2nd strongest dog in the world. Although this dog can be used as a pet dog, It’s one of the dogs people shouldn't mess with. The labrador is rated the strongest dog in the world. the great dane, boxer, siberian husky and irish wolfhound are related.. Did you know a play has featured six german shepherds before.

taphonomy

the kingdom of german shepherd is not mammal but animalia

the phylum (f-Y-lum) is chordate (k-OR-date)

chodate meaning vertibirit but just one level higher. large mammals are a chordate but also can be called: Chordata.

Among the chordata is called Deuterostome. The higher classification of that is Nephrozoa, this includes the same things as Deuterostome but adding extinct reptiles, mammals and birds.

the class is not like in school , instead the class is mammalia

mammals are a class of vertebrate animals, all mammals have hair covering their bodies. If you think “but an elephant doesn’t have hair but is still classified as a mammal”, look at this close up picture of an elephant.

All mammals have hair, and the elephant has hair from its early relatives, the wooly mammoth.

the order is Carnivora meaning it like to eat meat

Their family is shepherd meaning herding dogs

this dogs’ genus is called canis

the species of german shepherd

review

I will give this animal 10 stats because this is a police dog and a herding dog. I like dogs that protect their family and are strong dogs. These dogs are just like my dog, Rex!!
