When Thanksgiving comes around...

“Now, we shall say our prayers. I am thankful for my fam- HOLD THAT TURKEY!!! DID YOU NOT COOK IT ENOUGH??” “Well, I thought it was cooked when - when the oven - it dinged!!!” “WELL, IT HAS ESCAPED. NOW, WE DON’T HAVE TURKEY.” Ahh. Poor Adam, Jane, Barley, and Jesse. Their turkey is all gone. Now, another turkey lives! Did you know that the houses that I’ve been to, all their turkeys ran away! And I’ve been to 199 houses! Well, folks, this is why you need to cook a turkey ‘till there are no more feathers!

WHY DO WE HAVE THANKSGIVING?

We have thanksgiving every year on the 4th thursday of November. But the real question is, Why? Why do we have thanksgiving? We have thanksgiving because it is a day to give thanks. (But you should do this every day.) We celebrate this holiday to also celebrate the harvest and other blessings of the past year. Us Americans believe that this tradition started in 1621 by the English Colonist (Pilgrims) and of Plymouth and the Wampanoag people. This holiday has a rich legend and symbolism.

WHO CREATED THANKSGIVING?

Thanksgiving was created by a magical fairy. Hahaha hehe just kidding! Thanksgiving was created by the pilgrims in 1621. Those pilgrims were called the English colonist. Pilgrims and Puritans lived in the Church of England. But in England, they had so many rules. So the Pilgrims and Puritans traveled on the Mayflower. they traveled to America to have more freedom and rights.

WHAT AND WHY DID THE PILGRIMS CREATE THANKSGIVING DINNER?

The pilgrims wanted to celebrate their rewarded harvest and the fact that the sicknesses and scarcity to thank god that they are healthy, have food, and a great living. So then they threw a big feast. I mean, if I were sick the past year, and I have food and a feast, I would celebrate it.

But the question is, “ why did the pilgrims specifically make thanksgiving in November?” good question! That’s because in November, there is a harvest of food. So they have a feast with all different types of foods.

The pilgrims. The pilgrims. Now that you’ve come to this point, you are probably wondering where did they host the first feast. After 15,000,000,000 million years of living on Plymouth Rock, JK! The pilgrims arrived at Plymouth rock on November 11, 1620. After 15 days of living and 66 days of sailing, they thought, since we’ve lived here for 15 days, we might as well throw a big feast for a good harvest, sail, and cured sickness.

Aunnie’s art review

.

Introduction

What reminds you of thanksgiving? For me, thanksgiving reminds me of people making food and people giving. So that is why I’m writing about this art. The moms or women look busy, There are 2 babies, and 3 kids, 2 pets, that’s a lot and only 5 moms! Doris lee is the artist of this painting.

About the artist

The artist is Doris Lee. She was born February 1, 1905, and died June 16, 1983, she only lived for 78 years! I Don't know why she died though. She married Russell Werner Lee, they divorced in 1939. She met Arnold Blanch and married him. Doris Lee’s real name is Doris Emrick Lee. Her birthstone is Amethyst that is cool! It does not say if lee gave birth or had a kid.

About the art

In the picture there are 6 moms, 2 babies, 2 kids, 1 cat, and one dog, one mom in the dining room, the n+other four are in the kitchen and the two babies are on the left corner, on girl is in front of the doorway and the last girl is feeding the cat, fish. The colors are pink, blue, red, tan, dark green, and yellow. In the picture, the 5 moms are making the thanksgiving dinner and I think that the other mom is going out to get some food. I think that the artist made this art because it was thanksgiving and she saw her mom and aunts making the thanksgiving dinner so she painted what she saw. I think she felt I liked the art because excited because she was having yummy thanksgiving dinner with her family.

Rate the art

I give the art 5 stars because this art is how some people’s thanksgiving is. Another reason why I like it is that it is like it is a real thanksgiving in art.

Drake’s Break

Fowl (F-ou-l)

Introduction

Ow, hey doing good that uncle Joe? Yeah, I’m doin doin good. Yeah and how are you doin up there? Yeah just got up. See that bag up there? Yeah. Um can feed the fowl. Sure.

15 mins later…

Uh this is pretty heavy. Wof wof!!! Rider hey Rider, Don’t chase the fowls, alright, alright. Wait a second it’s spring, it’s spring!!! Uncle joe, it’s spring. Yeah, and what does that mean? That’s when most species of bird mate! It’s mating season for fowls. Wait, I thought you said November and December are mating season. Right? No that’s only for animals that love winter like

  1. Owls

  2. Coyotes

  3. Otters

  4. Fish species

  5. And deer.

Okay got it. Here's some cool facts about fowls. Let’s get movin.

Speed

The fowl can run to speed limits of 9 mph. 9 mph is probably the speed of chicken and duck but some duck and goose run 8.2 mph. But 100 phm in water for goose and ducks. 9 mph is no match compared to the fastest human in the world! The fowl:9 mph the fastest man: 23.35-28 mph (fastest woman: 21.32 mph). Length, shortest to tallest, and weight

Large fowls are 12-5.5 lbs, 0 tons, 0 metric tons (1 metric ton = to 2204.62 lb, 1 ton is = to 2000 lbs so 1 metric ton is bigger than1 ton and if you ask “how much tons is one metric ton”? Then here’s the answer 1.10231 tons is 1 metric ton), 170 grams, and 6 oz.

(about the environment)

Next, Species

Did you know a chicken is a fowl? Fowl is an animal, but a family too,so a chicken is a fowl. Most birds that get eaten like turkey, chicken, fowl, wild turkey, Red junglefowl, land domesticated turkeys are all considered a fowl. Though chickens don’t look like fowl, they're a species of fowl. Just like humans, some humans don’t look alike but they’re all humans. That is the same with world wide animals! Crocodilians, reptiles, ave (nickname for birds), amphibians, mammals and primate all have that similarity.

Finally, Drakes review

I'll give this animal 11 staars 99% because it is colorful and I like colorful birds because It looks like dinosaurs. Also nectar turkeys have weird feet like 🦕 🦖 dinosaurs.

THE AMERICAN LEGION OF THE US VETERANS

If you don’t know, this year, Aunnie, Drake, 2 special guests, and I are going to participate in a food drive. This organization helps veterans. They take food and give it to the veterans. Recently, their fridge broke so hundreds of donated food went bad. But anyway, they help because the food that we donate is going to veterans so they can enjoy and have a thanksgiving dinner.

WHAT ARE WE DOING TO GIVE BACK THIS YEAR?

This will help the injured, or non-injured veterans because they will have food on Thanksgiving day. Every year, we have a turkey in front of us. Then ten days later, we are disgusted by the left-over half-eaten turkey for dinner. But the homeless, shelterless, and people who live in shelters during quarantine would love to have a turkey in front of them. Even a half-eaten one. So as we donate, we should be grateful for the half-eaten turkey for dinner. This will help because they have dinner, lunch, and breakfast.

HOW YOU THINK THE PEOPLE RECEIVING THIS DONATION FEEL?

I think that they feel delighted to get these packages. I think they feel that because they have dinner to look forward to with their family. Also because when you have food, you are happy. Food is something that you don't take for granted. When we were packaging the food, I felt happy because I finally got to give back to the community.
